The Metropolitan Billiard Café opened in 1993 with the sole purpose of being the best billiard room in Edmonton . We instantly attracted the U.S. Billiard Digest and won Best New Foreign Billiard Room.

Our business plan was simple; To provide a wonderful safe place to play pool, with delicious food and excellent service, as well as keeping on the cutting edge with trends in the hospitality business. Sixteen years later, the Metro,(as we are known), has won many awards in and around Edmonton, still being voted Edmonton's Best Billiard Room and serving Edmonton's Best Nachos. Our Perfection Burger stands alone and our thin crust pizzas keep our dough machine working steadily.

Our philosophy has still stayed the same, but our clientele has broadened. We are now one of the most popular destinations for corporate parties in downtown Edmonton . Our Red Seal Chef and his team meticulously make sure all of the private parties that book at the Metro get special attention. The front end staff of the Metro has consistently been warm and friendly, making lunch or dinner in our 5000 square foot lounge or an evening game of pool on our Championship Brunswick pool tables a pleasure.

The Metro has gone through several renovations to keep with our cutting edge philosophy. Most recently was to bring back the special booths that set us apart from other restaurants and to consistently have state of the art audio/video. We now boast over 18 hi-def plasmas and full surround sound for sports events. Sixteen custom booths make watching a sports event while having dinner an awesome time.

The Metro is unique as it has some of the best food, is the best pool room and has some of the best staff in Edmonton. If there was a downside of Metro, it would be that there is only one. The owners Joey and Michele Caldarella feel that the only way to maintain our high standards is not to dilute the formula.
